This will be our second and final school year of fundraising for the new playground for our kids. In June of 2008, the Brouillet PTA has given permission to plan and build a new playground for our school.

We have raised about $25,000 for this project, but still need $50,000 to build the playground.

Refresh Everything Grant

The Brouillet Community Playground Project was in third place at the end of the voting.  Pepsi is going through a process to verify the finalists and will officially announce the winners on March 22nd.

Thank you for all of your hard work to make this a reality.

In addition to the refresh everything grant, we have come up with several ways that you can help support this great opportunity to provide our kids with a playground that they deserve.

1. Classroom donation jars

Each classroom will have a collection jar for the students to contribute loose change and small bills on a daily basis. At the end of each month, the class with the most money collected will get a free brick to engrave as a class for the walking path around the playground. The winning class will be announced each month at the PAWS assemblies.

2. Buy an engraved brick

We are offering engraved bricks that will be placed in a walking path around the new playground. Please consider donating to this worthy project for the kids of our community.

You can purchase either a 4"x8" brick with your message for $100 or

You can purchase an 8" x 8" brick with your message for $200

To order your brick go to the ordering page.

3. Buy an “I supported the Brouillet Elementary Playground Project” T-shirt.

There is a new design for the 2009/2010 school year that cost $16 with $10 of the purchase going to the new playground fund. Complete an order form (xls) and return it to school with your child.

5. Other ideas?

Do you have other ideas about how to raise money for our playground, please feel free to share your ideas.

How you can help

We are always looking for opportunities to raise money for the playground. If you have ideas about how to raise money for the project or would like to donate to the project, please feel free to contact us with your ideas or donations.

We frequently ask for volunteers to help with work parties as well. After the last work party in August, the work parties will probably start up again next summer.

Concrete and form workers needed

We are looking for experienced help for putting in the concrete perimeter that will contain the new playground area.  Any business that is willing to help with this community project will receive a tax deduction credit for the amount of the service rendered.  This business will also be recognized as a local business that helped with this very worthy project in our Brouillet PTA newsletter as well as on our website.  This business will also be recognized at the ribbon cutting ceremony at the opening of the playground in September 2009. If you are interested in helping with this phase of the project, or if you know of anyone that may be willing to help, call Brian Ragsdale at 864-3028 or Email at bragsdaleusaretired@comcast.net
